The Elegance of Shibari

A long time ago, I began collecting pictures of Japanese Shibari (or rope bondage) as I found them. This was not because I was particularly interested in becoming a rope bondage master but rather because I found that this particular style of bondage and the way that it is photographed has a certain elegance and class to it. There is a way that the ropes form symmetrical designs either on top of the models outfit or on top of her bare skin that has a fascinating visual appeal. I wouldn't mind learning a few basic ties and designs and designs with rope but when Shibari is taken to it's highest level, it can take a while just to get to design completed with the rope before moving on to whatever else is on the agenda. Most people don't have that much patience. Anyone who is interested in this topic is encouraged to check out the work of Midori, a true Shibari artist who has probably forgotten more about rope bondage than most people will ever know.
