Mrs. Judith Sommers, 45, and her daughter, Cecile, 18, are arrested on fake theft and forgery charges as part of a complex plan to acquire women for the international slave trade. After a fake trial they are taken publicly to what they thought was an abandoned coal mine on the outskirts of the city and there began their descent into forced labour, slavery and permanent bondage.
